Hi,

I have a very robust Windows 2003 Server that's being
used for video streaming. This server is located in a
datacenter and servers up to 800 simultaneous streams at
100k each. So where talking about 80 mbit/sec.

That's a massive amount of traffic. I'm currently
searching for a firewall solution for this server.

I've been able to set up both RRAS (Routing and Remote
Access) and IPSec to filter ports. But I feel that they
don't offer the same level of security as a firewall.

My question to you fellows is: what is the best firewall
solution for my case? I thought about hardware firewall,
but my only option (Netscreen) is limited to 75 mbit/sec.

What is the best firewall software that doesn't impact on
my bandwidth capacity?

Thanks in advance,

Helder G. Conde

How about a Netscreen 25 or 50? Max throughput on a Netscreen
50 is 170Mbps. Using 3DES this drops to 45Mbps. Netscreen do
lots of different models - for example their 5400 has a max
throughput rate of 12Gbps. Is that enough for you? :)

Netscreen was also recently purchased by Juniper.  I've
heard they have some pretty cool new products.  If you
can wait a couple of months to buy something, it might be
worth it.
