Hello, I have just strated messing with streaming media
and have a few questions.

[Using Server 2000]

Can I push a live stream using WME(9) to the server
running IIS and WMA?

I'm having trouble connecting to the server.
For that matter I'm having trouble setting up WMA also...

Any tips on getting a live stream to work?

Thanks,
jc

JC,

In Windows 2000 Server, you need to install Windows Media Services v4.1.
You can't push from the 9 Series encoder to the v4.1 WMS (this push feature
requires the WMS 9S which ships with Windows Server 2003).  However, you
can pull from the encoder on your v4.1 WMS server.  For more info. and

Jorge, thank you for responding.

I now installed WMA on my mail server instead (no IIS).

Is WMA the same v4.1?

I'm using WMEncoder9 to stream the live video behind a
router. Does this matter? I have DMOZ set to that computer.

Now in WMA server.

Enable HTTP distribution for Windows Media Station
service - Enabled

Configure Server - Multicast Stations
Adapter IP : Default
Port: 7007

Source/Destination
URL: msbd://64.169.106.50/
This is the routers IP

Any further tips...?

Thanks,
Jon C.
