Multicast Problem

Hi Folks

We run Windows Media Server 2003 Corporate Edition with Windows Media Services 9

I created "live" multicast broadcast publishing point (I loop pre-recorded file, therefore quotes...). When I access it from within server itself, both following scenarios work

mms://serever_name/publisfhing_point_name (unicast
http://server_name/multicast_info.nsc (multicast

If I access server from the network, player can only establish unicast connection (or unicast roll-over), multicast request returns "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is busy. Try again later."

Where is the problem? Isn't my network adapter multicast compliant? Do I have to have some special device (like Cisco caching device or similar) to stream multicast content

Please advice, I'd also welcome info on good reference reading about this topic if anybody knew by any chance..

Thanks a lot

Brani

In order for the client to receive multicast, you need to
make sure that all your network equipment such as routers,
switches and hubs, must be multicast-enabled between the
client and server.

Please check the "Delivering content as a multicast
stream" in the WMS Help document.

Thx,
Ravi
