Under wms 4.1 I could turn the connection to the encoder
on and even get an error message when the encoder was not
streaming live content.  But when the encoder started
broadcasting, the server automatically noticed and went
into play mode.  It seems the the v9 of wms does not do
this.  It gives an error message about connecting to the
encoder, but then you have to acknowledge that message
with "ok" and it stops the publishing point.

Anybody with information on how to set this so encoder can
start and stop anytime without intervention from me on the
server side?

thanks
Kevin

You can enable the option "Start when first client connect" for this
broadcast publishing point on the server. The publishing point will
auto-start when clients connect. You don't need to manually start the
pubishing point from admin then.
