Hi

i´m having big trouble with wms running on 2 machines with windows server
2003 datacenter edition x64, sp2.

the problem is that from time to time the wmserver crahes in both modules:
ntdll.dll and wmserver.dll on peak hours (8000 unicast useraccess access).

the machines have 8 GBytes memory and use only 15% normally. Also have a cpu
at 1% load most of the time ad are capable to transmit 1Gbps of traffic.

the publishing points   accessed by the  users have its source diretly
connect to the live encoder. MS recomends to use a playlist which points to a
local pp with a remote encoder as source.

Really i don´t know if this might be the problem or is a memory problem, or
software problem.I´d apreciate your help.

thanks in advance

Hi

Try to disable the PEA (physical address extension) in boot.ini for both
servers and of course do not forget to install the latest OS patches from
Microsoft

Dear Vladimir,
thanks for your suggestion. I´d like to ask if it is secure to to this ,
because for Microsoft Knowledge Base says  i shouldn´t change this if I have
more than 4gb of RAM.
What do you think?

Hi Windieana,

Disabling PEA will not compromise  the security of your server. The only
drawback here is that only 4GB of RAM will be available. So this could be a
temporary solution which may make the server more stable.
