Depends on the encoding bit rate. If you encode at 300 kbps you
can do it with a single WMS streaming server with a GigE connection
If you go to 500+ kbps you will need two streaming servers.
A good x64 server with 4 gig of ram will handle it

Sure. However, unless you are streaming fairly
continuously, you will want to use a low cost CDN rather then build it
yourself.

You can use a cheap dell sc445 with 2 gig ram at each
location
I would run Windows 2003 server (or NT) at each location.
It is a streaming server so you dont Media Services.
You would have one incoming stream fron the main
distribution WMS streaming server (NOT from the encoder) and then set
up DNS in each office to direct the viewers to the local streaming
server.
