Are there any ways to prevent other websites from stealing/hotlinking to live
video streams?

Does WMS have the built-in functionality to prevent this or do we need to
purchase/build a custom plug-in to prevent this from happening?

If a WMS plug-in is required? Are there any recommendations as to which ones
are worth the money to purchase?

Would it be easy for any experienced Java programmer to write a plugin to
accomplish this task?

Thanks All! This is a greaft forum to learn from!

Not that I am aware of, without using a DRM to protect your
stream.

DRM is the answer - the only answer. If you don't limit the stream to
chosen IP addresses.
