Hi,

I'm trying to figure out a way to allow access to only users who are
watching a particular Windows Streaming Media stream through a web page
embedded with the stream itself. In other words, I'm trying to limit access
to people who want to try and go directly to the mms:// or http:// link. Is
this even possible? Is there a way to specify in the embed code a specific
user the client authenticates as? Meaning every user using the embedded
webpage client would be authenticated as a special user and therefore get
access. Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello Kevin.

yes it is possible to do that you want. The thing you are trying to do is
called authorization by referrer.  This will require not a client but server
side programming and is connected with windows media services authorization
plug-ins development. There is a ready made software to do what you want -
see http://voynex.com/wmsbilling for details.
