Those are all plugins for your browser that allow you to view swf in a
web page. I was talking about a separate application like a movie player
that can play these files.

From that page:
"The update replaces the Debug and Release versions of Flash Player 9
browser plugins, **standalone players**, and Test Movie players."
[My emphasis.]
A standalone player is what you're after. I looked at the system
requirements and they didn't mention neeeding Flash installed; that's why I
wrote "one of them might work."
