After installing Service Pack 4 Windows 2000 crashes with
a blue screen saying EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED this usually
happens when trying to use anything to do with hard drive
access or files. E.G. trying to open a document from Word,
or Excel etc. Uninstalling the Service Pack and reverting
back to Service Pack 3 means the PC works fine. Anyone any
idea why this keeps happening?

I have tried to load sp4 onto two win 2000 fresh installs,
with sp3 already loaded and I get

"The core System File(kernel) used to start this computer
is not a Mocrosoft Windows file. The Service Pack will not
be installed....."

Has anyone else had this and resolved the problem

Ross
