Can anyone out there help me. I have just upgraded my PC from Windows '98 to
Windows 2000. No problems and no error messages. The problem is, it
automatically brings up some other username I don't know about (assume it was
the former owner of the PC) I typed in the password I assigned myself during
the installation and it loads up the personal details and then automatically
goes back to the Shutdown/Restart Window without going into the applications.
I tried going into Safe Mode and the whole menu with with to get to Recovery
Console to get a list of Usernames and passwords, but that didn't come up so
I could enter a command in. It just runs in Safe Mode or whatever and goes
into the logon window. Now, the password that worked before doesn't work
altogether. What can I do so I can get in? There have been no error message
altogether. Anyway a username and password can be assigned and work or what
can I do. Thanks

Would it be possible with the OS media you have in hand to format
the computer and do a clean install of 2000?
