I have program that I need to install on windows 2000 pro, SP1, but the
program won't install because it is looking for SP4
Is there any way to tweak windows to make it look like it has SP4, to this
program so it will install anyway?
(Don't want to install SP4 because I need this PC clean SP1 patch only)

thanks

Probably not, unless you know exactly what file / registry entry the install
is checking

That is exactly what I like to know,
where does a program look at to determine if windows 2000 has Service Pack
level 1, 2 3 or 4?
I am sure it is looking at a registry key or a single file to determine if
windows has right patch level.

What it checks would be determined by what the programmer selected, which
could be any number of items
