Error number: 0x80070020

Windows update wants to install new software, downloads, fails to install.
I just tried for 4th time. New error message.
Error number: 0x800A138F

IE 7.0.5730.11
Here is the initial message when I try windows update,
We've made improvements to our website. To download the new version of
the software and begin using Windows Update, please click Install Now.
It says downloading, goes 100%
It says copying files, goes 100%
Then says
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you
are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the
problem.
Error number: 0x80070020
Microsoft solutions cannot find that error number.

Your HOSTS file may have been overwritten by adware. Try to rename this file
and attempt the update again - the should be under  the
C:\Windows\System\Drivers\Etc (replace "Windows" with your local folder if
different from the default).

You can also download the WindowsUpdate log analyzer from
http://www.altairtech.ca/tools.asp.
