Hi there,
I am getting following error trying to update an W2K server with
security patches:
-file srequired to use windows update are no longer registered or installed
on your computer, to continue-register or reinstall the files
not(recommended
or
-let me read more about the steps to resolve the problem
Choosing first option goes back in a loop with same errors. Should I do a
windows repair?
Thanks a lot, Calin

I'm having the exact same problem with a Windows 2000 server. The Control
panel will not open and Internet Explorer 6 locks up when trying to load
(and when attempting Windows updates). Having to try and update using
Firefox. No success. Running Windows Server 2000  SP3.

How can I update without IE6 and get them to install? (Would SP4 solve this?
If so, how to get?)
