Like many people in this group I too am having problems with Windows update.

I have 2 Win2k PC's and Win Update works on one but not the other. The one
on which it works has a basic installation which includes AVG Free virus
protection but not much else. The PC on which it fails has more stuff such
as Norton Antivirus as well as Spybot SD resident, BHO Demon and TeaTimer.
Also, I do have the Internet ExplorerYahoo toolbar which includes a Pop-up
Blocker.

The failure is that the Updates are identified (the "Updates available" icon
appears in the Start Bar) but do not install when initiated. Should I turn
off these virus programs before doing an install?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

TIA,
-GB

You might want to try with these all off.
You could also go direct to Winupdate site and check from there
