I have installed WSUS on my SBS2000 box following all the instructions in the
WSUS Deployment Guide and in particular the "Step-by-step guide to Getting
Stated with MS WSUS on WIndows 2000 Server"
Everything seemed to go smoothly, but when I open the WSUSAdmin page, under
the ToDo list, it gives CatalogSyncAgent and WSUSService as non-running
services.
I cannot find either of these services in Administrative Tools->Services.
More worryingly, I cannot either uninstall or re-install WSUS. If I try
either WSUSSetup.exe just hangs.
I tried Stopping synchronistaion on the Options screen, but it just gives
the currrent status as 'Stopping' - even after a reboot!!
Does anybody have any ideas?

If I remember right Windows Update is the name of it.

Look for a non running service in the "Services" and enable them.

Update Services...

If you have Trend it tends to sometimes Not let it start..

Just go in the Properties of the Service and have it restart upon failure...
Some people put requirements, but restarting it upon failure works...

Thanks for your reply.
OK It's called 'Update Services' and it is running!! No sign of
CatalogSyncAgent  though.
I refreshed the WSUSAdmin page and it still gives CatalogSyncAgent and
WSUSService as non-running services.

Anything else I should check?
