I just reinstalled w2k after a disk crash. the CD is basic w2k so I
applied SP4 and then went to Windows Update to get current.
Windows Update is complaining that my IE is not 5.03 (from memory) or
later and I can't find any place on the MS web site to get a late-5.x
version of IE.
Is there a patch set later than SP4 called SP4 rollup? Where do I get that?
here at home, on my w2k system, which has been patched regularly I see
MSIE reports 6.something version. Yesterday I saw a page on MS.com that said
that 5.5 was the latest IE for w2k.
When I hit windows update I and ask it to scan my machine it spins
forever and never comes up with anything. Why's that?

Don't blame me. I voted for Gore.
