I am having problems doing a windows updates on a windows 2000 server.  I
choose custom setup and then it starts checking but then comes up with the
following error message:

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

I have tried reinstalling IE 6 and IE SP1  but still no difference.  Is
there any other patch I can install to get this to work, any other
suggestion.

This sounds like a similar problem I had with Win2K Professional (see
earlier post in this thread.)

Are you able to run Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and get a list
of installed programs?  When I had the problem with the patch, I'd get
an error doing that operation.
