Disk Cleanup Hangs

I just installed sp4 on my Win 2000 Pro machine along with all the available
updates (used auto-update) and was hoping that a problem that I have had
with my system since the beginning would be resolved, but it hasn't. The
problem is that when I attempt to use the disk cleanup tool in windows, it
never gets past the checking for old files to compress stage.

Is there a patch for this that may not have been downloaded by
"Auto-Update"? Is it possible that there are so many old files to check that
it would take longer than the 30+ minutes I gave it?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom McCabe

Thanks, Bob...that's more than I found when I searched the MS site this
morning. I notice that the article is for XP but am assuming that this
function is the same on Win 2K...in any case I'll check it out.
