Has anyone else experienced a Bug Check after installing the latest updates
to Windows 2000 Server?

All updates were performed via Windows Update.

Yes. You may see the following bugcheck after installing Update Rollup 1 for
Windows 2000 SP4:

  STOP 0x0000001E (0xC000005,0x804A6467, 0x00000000, 0x000000E0)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

NOTE: The 4 parameters may change.

To fix this, boot into recovery console with the Windows 2000, WIndows XP or
Windows
Server 2003 CD. Here are some references:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307654

NOTE: You will need to know your local Administrator password (or the
Directory Services Restore Mode password for a DC) and you may need a floppy
disk with your mass storage controller driver. Here is a
reference:

Once you get to a command prompt in Recovery Console, follow these steps:

1) Boot into recovery console. (redundant)

2) Navigate to
c:\winnt\system32\drivers directory.

3) Ren scsiport.sys scsiport.urp.

4) Navigate to the c:\winnt\$ntupdaterolluppackuninstall$ directory.

5) copy scsiport.sys c:\winnt\system32\drivers.

6) Reboot into windows.

7) Call Microsoft Technical Support and open a non-fee case and request the
yet-unpublished hotfix kb9043748.  Install the hotfix 904374 and reboot and
make sure everything is working fine.
