I've got Win's ME, on desktop pc. It's interfered w/ my jukeboxes, soundcard,
pc freezes, etc. I spent wks trying to figure out how to fix it. I finally
deleted it ,thru add/remove. I thought things were better. But, then after
going online the next day,, my pc froze again. I went to reboot, and the PC
won't shut down. That happened w/ KB891711 before removing so I feel it's
still due to that. My pc was working fine before I downloaded that awful
update. I rebooted, and scanned disc, and then up & running, went to Win's
Explorer. (I'd read Paul's post on "Any Resolution".) So I'd thought I'd done
everything, except call that phone #. I don't know if it's a toll free #. I
can't afford to call a long distance #. So I found a KB891711 folder ,under
search in Win's Explorer, and an .exe extension file. I deleted them.  Now I
can find no more KB891711 but... my pc is still really screwed up. I have
dialup. My pc won't shut down , when I "alt, del, crtl" it says "close is
waiting to close" which it never does". When it freezes online, IE 6.0, I
have to reboot. It's affected my Arcsoft Photoablum, Ver.2.2,  and destroyed
it. I can't open it w/o Error "Phbase MFC42.DLL will close". And I can't open
it again.  My Real Player, freezes. I've gone to MSconfig, and there is no
KB891711 there. That I see. Short of reformatting my whole pc, what can I do?
I'm not good w/ pc lingo, I didn't even know about this page until this
happened. I need this pc, and I'm so f'rking mad, that MS would do this to
me. There are people who, like me can't afford to run out and buy a pc. Are
they making a patch to fix this problem? What can I do for now? Is anyone
else still having prob's after deleting the Critical Update? I'd say the
update is CRITICAL!! I can use any help . I'm moving what I can to CD's, and
my ext. HD. But I need my pc. What good does calling 1 866 PCSAFTEY? What
does it do, and why should I call?  Is it toll free? These are questions I
need to know. Please help. Anyone. I want to know if other's are having
problems after deleting the update from "Add/Remove". And the file's too. And
if so, is there a "fix?" What can I do to fix my pc? Thanks.
