Windows Server Forum / Windows 2000 / Update / October 2004Please help wat to do
While updating the windows Xp i encountered the following error .... "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem" Error number: 0x80240030 Please Help DISABLE PROXY SERVER In IE Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections ->LAN Settings -> Clear all boxes and uncheck everything OR if that doesn't resolve it Download the BITS client 1.5 from Microsoft.com http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8c6ef6c8-2abf-43c7- ab51-e0c 53303086d&displaylang=en TO FIND IT: Search for BITS on microsoft.com and the select only "Downloads" from the right hand side of results, then click "Download details: BITS Client Component Version 1.5" Install it and then restart Windows Update should work fine now Dave |
