Hi All,

As per the subject.

The printer was working fine yesterday - overnight I ran the updates on W2K
and installed the last 5 critical updates.

When I now access the Printing Preferences it crashes explorer.exe with an
exception error.

Would this be anything to do with the GDI fix?

Check with HP.

Well, panic over!

Uninstall and reinstall did the trick as ever - but a hassle I could have
done without.

Cheers All.

I encountered the same problems.  It also effects the HP LaserJet 4200's.
It does not however have any effect on a majority of the the HP printer
models that I can see - just a few of them.

CUASE:  One of the windows drivers (not a critical update) was an update
for the HP Printer Drivers.  When this new windows driver is installed it
modifies the entire configuration of certain HP printers.

SOLUTION:  The only way to fix this is download or reinstall the print
drivers from HP.  If you are running them from a print server you need to
reinstall the HP drivers on the server.  After doing this everything was
fine again.
