I recently downloaded SP4 and while it was installing, my
laptop (Compaq Armada M700) closed down. It now is unable
to reboot and gets as far as the 'Windows 2000' screen and
then shuts down and reboots into a loop. It does the same
when trying to access safe mode. I understand that SP4 may
be the cause of this - can anyone offer any advice on how
to fix this problem?

Boot on your Win2K CD and select Repair. Order the SP4 CD,
it's a lot easier that way.
