I have no idea what microsoft have done but I do know that
when I removed the updates KB837001, KB828741 and KB835732
from my system the problem went away. Looking through some
of the other postings in this newsgroup, my guess would be
that KB835732 is the cause.

Same here. However, KB835732 is the patch needed to protect against
the Sasser worm.

I have this exact same problem too. What do we do? I keep uninstalling
KB835732, but Windows tries to reinstall it whenever I'm not looking. Im
not sure what the Sasser worm does exactly, but it cant be as annoying as
this fix!!!!

I uninstalled KB835732 and my PC didn't shut down properly
and then no longer booted up!
So I now permanently have the Object Name Already Exists
on screen, until I have the time to work out what to try
next.
