I bought a used laptop at a computer show.  It came loaded
with windows 2000 professional and vendor did not supply
me with the cd's for windows 2000.

I went to microsoft update to update some critical patches
and during the loading an error message popped up and then
the machine locked up.

Now Windows 2000 won't load and it says there is a corrupt
file and I need to insert the original cd and type /r or
something like that.

Is there anyway to download the corrupt file (I'd have to
go back to the laptop and see what it is) and load it into
the laptop?

I'm very computer illiterate, btw.

Thanks

Contact the vendor to get the Windows 2000 CD.
