Help! i just installed critical update 823980 on my laptop. now the machine doesn't boot anymore. can't even reinstall windows/doesn't read CD Rom nor floppy anymore! Thanks Diana Sounds to me like a hardware problem. Check your BIOS settings, but your laptop may be dead.
