Whenever I try to perform the IE 6.0 update, I get the following error message... Setup cannot copy the file Iesetup.inf. The directory name is invalid. (error #267). I have tried moving the file to the C:\ directory and still the error remains...any suggestions? Corrupt File Download the update manualy not through windowsupdate then verify hdd space and clean out your tempory files either under winnt and/or documents and settings (recommended to do the disk cleanup util) I ran the disk cleanup wizard and downloaded the 'ie6setup.exe' file. Tried to install it and still got the same error message. Error message states... Setup cannot copy the file Iesetup.inf. The directory name is inivalid (error #267). Have you verified the permissions on the inf folder. Make sure you have access to this folder, the permissions could be wrong.
