What are you referring to in the statement "so unable to use registry change"?

Most HP laserJet printers will work fine with a LaserJet 4 or LaserJet 4
Plus driver, i.e. map the client printer to the built-in HP LaserJet 4 Plus
driver on the TS via user defined inf file.

The registry edit for allowing the use of non-standard printer ports is
applied to the server, not the client.
