Hello,

I've been put in position to handle some issues on our network, and I need
some information regarding TS.  We have a Win2k Server as a DC, running AD.
Two notebook computers running XP Pro connect remotely to our core business
software via
RDC.  For the most part everything works okay, but in Event Viewer there are
many errors stating that we are out of TS licenses.  TS is a new topic to
me, and I don't know how to proceed.  Things I read state that TS will run
for only 90 days after the TS server is activated.  After that no licenses
are to be given out.  However, while I didn't have anything to do with the
network while all this was set up, I'm sure the TS has been used for well
over 90 days.   The only problem I'm seeing is the error.  RDC still
connects every time.

Do we owe MS some money?

Can someone orient me on this issue.  I will be glad to take it from there
and seek more training.

Thank you,

WJ

Can you post the EventID and Source of the errors you see, as well
as the description?
I believe that the error has to do with server CALs, not Terminal
Server CALs, but need to see the EventID to be sure.

And which server are the clients connecting to with rdp? The DC? Or
another server? And whichever server they connect to, is this
server running Terminal Services in Application Server mode, or in
Remote Administration mode? This is crucial information to know the
TS licensing requirements.
