Hello,
I need to deploy a remote desktop shortcut on approx. 100 computers ,
but even if i check the box "remember password", when i copy the icon on
another computer , the terminal server still prompt for the password. It's
working on my computer but not on the others computers. But , if i enter
manually the password on the others computers , it save the password
correctly. How can i avoid to long on an manually type the password for each
of the others computers ? All computers use windows 2000/xp with remote
desktop connection installed. Also , the terminal server "Always prompt for
password" option is not checked.
excuse my poor english
Thanks
Francois

This is by design. For security reasons, the password is encrypted
in such a way that only the same user, on the same machine, can
decrypt it.
Just teach the users that they type in their password on first
connection, and save it into the rdp file.
Alternatively, if all users are using the same account and
password, you can set the username and password in Terminal
Services Configuration admin tool.
