Terminal Services Causing Account Lockout

Could anyone advise me why when I connect to one of my servers using terminal
services, the next time I boot my PC, my user account has been locked out.

Not really, but I would guess that you have saved your username and
password for the connection in your rdp file, and you have since
changed your password. That would explain at least one failed logon
per connection attempt.
