Hi All,

I am getting the exact problem described in KB article
319909.  I.e. CSrss is locking user profiles open and
generating a userenv event ID 1000.

However my servers are running SP3 with a few post SP3
patches.  (319909 is supposedly "fixed" in SP3).

Has anyone seen this?  I am in the process of enabling an
IPSEC policy.. but this seems a bit of a fudge.

This is not a fix, but it does work. Email this gentleman-
arobincaron@hotmail.com and ask him to send you uphclean. It is a
service he wrote to monitor profile unloading and then release the
handles that are still open (which is what causes the profiles to not
unload). In my case problems started after applying SP4. They still
continue after several post SP4 hotfixes, but the profile not saving
issue has been "mended" with this service.

Are you running any antivirus utilities?  A few of them
have been known to cause problems with unloading profiles.
