I'm having an issue installing MDAC 2.8 SP1 on a workstation.  I've tried
everything I can think of including enter WIndows setup form the 2000 SP3 CD
and ran a repair and reapplying hte SP4 and IE6 afterwords but I still cannot
install MDAC SP1.  Coponent checker shows me that MDAC 2.5 SP3 is installed.
When I attempt to run the MDAC 2.8 SP1 setup it starts and eventualy gets to
a part where it attempts to rollback components and eventual fails with an
error message of Setup could not complete.  Setup cannot be completed becuae
an error was encountered during setup.  Please contact your software vendor
for more information.  I really need to get this installed.  Any help would
be most appreciated.

Are you in a position to nuke this workstation and start from scratch?
