I am not able to hide the windows 2003 server from the browser list with this
command

net config server /hidden:yes or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

This setting does it apply to Windows 2003 server or Domain controller ?

You did not mention the reg entry at that key.  You are checking the
DWord entry named "hidden" right?
Yes, this applies to W2k3, and AFAIK to a DC although I do not
know of its effect or advisability there.
Is the machine where you are trying this also configured with WINS
server(s)?  The "hidden" value control responses to browser name
requests and silences announcements.  If the machine is a WINS
client then it will be registering its name with WINS.
