Hello,

could someone please help me with the following problem:

Whenever I go to the internet, after about 5-7 minutes, I get the following
message

The system process 'C:\\WINNT\system32\services.exe' terminated unexpectedly
with status code 128. The system will now shut down and restart.

and the computer counts down from 60 seconds and restarts.

I would like to note that if I just go to the internet for a very short
time, and then log off, nothing happens. If I do not go to the internet,
nothing happens.

I am running Win2000 Pro. I had to reinstall recently and I think I am
fairly up to date with security updates. I did not check since this started
happening, since it would take longer than just a few minutes. I did run a
full virus scan though (I have grisoft's free version AVG), I am up-to-date
there, and did not find any virus.

I tried the solution in Microsoft's KB # 318447, as well as 826955. I did
not find anything out of the ordinary.

I need help now as I really don't know what to do any more.

Thank you for any input.

Please see responses in microsoft.public.security newsgroup.

In the future remember that, when appropriate, one may list multiple
newsgroups in a single posting, called x-posting, so that there is only
one thread.  You have multi-posted the same thing to multiple groups
which fragments the responses into multiple separate threads.
