I have two different models of workstations in my network.  On one
workstation, I can map to the print server with either an admin account or a
regular user account and add a printer fine without any issues.  However, on
the newer model workstation, if I attempt to add a printer to the workstation
as a regular user, I recieve the following error, "You do not have sufficient
access to your machine to connect to the selected printer." I can log in as
an administrator and add the printer without any issues and if I put the user
into the Power Users group, the printer can be added as well.  I would prefer
not to have anyone in the Power Users group as it is working fine on the
other machine.

Both machines are Win2K and the print server is Win2K3.  I verified that
authenticated users have read/write access to the %windir%\system32\spool
directory and all subfolders.  All of the security settings appear to be the
same.

I would appreciate any assistance that can be offered in regards to this.
If more information is needed, please let me know.

Update:
I was able to get this working by setting the RPC Service to Manual and
allowing Interactive the rights to Start and Stop the service.  However, when
viewing the printer in the Printers folder, it is showing "Access Denied,
unable to connect."

Any ideas?

Thanks

I was able to clear up the error message after restarting the Print Spooler
service on the print server.  Now the printers show as Ready in the printer
folder.
