Dear NG, any reason why netdiag is showing the following error....

[WARNING] Cannot find a primary authoritative DNS server for the name
'Main.company.local.'. [ERROR_TIMEOUT]  The name 'Main.compnay.local.' may
not be
registered in DNS.  PASS - All the DNS entries for DC are registered on DNS
server '192.168.110.252' and other DCs also have some of the names
registered.

Notice that this is a DHCP client computer; the IP
Address is .252 AND THE DNS server is set to
.252 (the same address.)

IF this machine is the DNS server it has no business
with a DHCP assigned address.  Likely it is NOT the
DNS server but this (.252) address has been incorrectly
configured EITHER on the DHCP server OR (more likely
perhaps) on the machine itself.

NOTE:  A computer CAN have a DHCP assigned address
and still OVERRIDE and set the the DNS server manually
in its NIC->IP Properties.

Most likely this is what has happened, and it has been
set to the same number.

In any case, if you computer is using .252 as the DNS server
then that machine needs to be a DNS server -- or you must
change the machine (somehow, DHCP or manaul) to point
to the ACTUAL DNS server.

Herb, .252 is the DNS server as well as a DC, its obviously manually
configured being that its a DNS and DC box

hi guys, ok this was just a ridicules simple issue I don't even know how I
didn't pick this up before, the error in netdiag was referring to the second
nic on the server which is unplugged and autoconfigured, the test was also
checking the second AutoConfig nic over ip 169.254.189.251, as soon i
disabled the second nic netdiag was passing with flying colors
