Using VMCR-Plus, just shutdown the VM and open the settings. At the top is a
SCSI options window, change it from 1 to 3, and then go in and make the
changes to the SCSI addresses and share options. You still use addresses 6
and 7 for each new card. I tend to keep all the cards on one node on the
same address when I build these.

Hi Guys,
Can i just check something with you. I have 4 virtual scsi adapters on 1
guest. each has scsi id 7.
Each has a Virtual Scsi disk attached, each on Scsi id 0.
Does this sound correct?

Why would you have 4 adapters??? One adapter and 4 disks is more typical.

Charlie,
I treid to add more disk to same adapter but then its erroring out saying
that the location is already in use. the virtual server documentation says
you can have four adapters with 8 disk attached to each adapter. but there no
way in interface(atleast which i know) to add more disk to same adapter.
I would appreciate if you can share the knowledge on how do this. It will
help me.
Thanks,
Sameer Dhoot.

Certainly you can add more disks. You just select SCSI ID 0 for the first
disk (that's the default), and then SCSI ID1 for the second disk, SCSI ID 2
for the third, etc. Your SCSI "Adapter" will have SCSI ID 7, and you can
connect 7 disks to each adapter.

Chris, i have replied to this and hope this should provide you an explanation.
You can do this if the disk are not shared. In my case i need these adapters
to on a shared SCSI bus so cannot have same ID. And articles i read says i
cannot use same ID's.

Well I can add four adapters but I am confused if I can use the same id. I am
trying to create two node windows cluster with SQL Server 2005. I have gone
through couple of articles on how to go about these
-
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/virtualserver/deploy/cvs2005.mspx
-
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/articles/clustering/installing_sql_cluster
ing_virtual_server_p1.aspx
As per these articles I cannot use the same ID for SCSI adapters as these
needs to be on Shared Bus.
From Page 8 of article (article on second link which I referenced)
"In the above screen, you want to select "Share SCSI bus for clustering,"
which I have already done above, and select the "SCSI adapter ID" as 6. Note:
Do not use the default value of 7, as this will conflict with node1. Then
click on "OK" to create the SCSI adapter. We are now done adding the virtual
SCSI adapter."
I have used one ID for each node to share the quorum disk. Now i need to two
more adapters with unique ID so that I can add shared array to store SQL
Server database.
Maybe I am not clear on what is required but if anyone of you can read and
clarify if unique ID are required?
Thanks to all who have replied and anyone who will be replying in future.

Hi Guys,
I was setting this up ready for a 2node cluster. I read that the disks all
need to be attached to the shared scsi bus 0. Is this correct?

I have found the answer here
https://blogs.msdn.com/blakhani/archive/2008/01/19/how-to-create-sql-server-2005
-clustering-with-virtual-server-2005-part-2.aspx
I was confused that i need unique scsi id for each adapter. But actually i
can add upto 4 scsi adpater using same id 7 (Shared Bus) on one vm node and
four adapters using scsi id 6 on other vm node.
Thanks to all for taking time to answer.
