I am looking to turn my VS2005 into an 08 environment and would like
to use a SAN now.

1. Can 2008 boot via PXE
2. Can Virtual Machine Manager migrate a VM from one physical server
to another?

Thanks all

PXE really isn't a function of 2008, it is more of a function of the NIC
that can boot strap the server over the network.  Not realy sure what you
are trying to accomplish here.  Expand a bit and maybe it will lead
somewhere.

Virtual Machine Manager 2008 that is now in beta, can do V2V (virtual to
virtual) conversion. Microsoft markets that you can do this to migrate in
your VMWare guests into Hyper-V, but it works from Virtual Server 2005 as
well.  Not sure if it really buys you much.  The prefered way would be to
take your VS 2005 guest, make sure it is at sp2 for w2k3 or sp4 for w2k,
uninstall the additions, copy the guest to the new location on the Hyper-V
server and then create a new guest using the vhd you just copied over.  You
will need to re-IP the server after you move it.    Once you have a couple
of Hyper-V servers, VMM can also easily move them between hosts.
