How to do a QUICK snapshot of the vhd file ?

Using MS Virtual Server 2005 SP1 on windows 2003 sp2.

I would like to get a quick snapshot of the vhd file (i am ok to make the
production vhd file offline to get a snapshot). Are there any tools rather
than to do a copy and paste of the vhd file ?

One tool that can do snapshots of VMs is VMRC Plus 1.8.
