Hi guys,
first of all ... if I am wrong here just point me to the correct place.
I tried to find a place were my problem/question is suited best and I
figured this newsgroup fits my problem the most. Second I want to
apologize for my crapy english :).
I am using Windows 2008 Server as kind of a workstation. Everything runs
quite smoothly ... until I install the Hyper-V role. As soon as Hyper-V
is installed the whole system tend to freeze at certain operations. It
doesn't matter if a virtualized operating system is running or not. It's
quite annoying that everytime I open a new page in Internet Explorer the
whole system tends to freeze for several seconds (including the
profiling so I don't even see what process or thread exactly produces
the spike).
Googling for that issue haven't brought up much so far. Just a few
people out there using the same mainboard chipset having the same issues
as I have.
My hardware:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (not overclocked)
4 GB RAM
Intel P35 chipset
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX
I already tried updating all drivers but that didn't help. I am using
Windows 2008 Standard Server with Hyper-V RTM version.
Maybe someone knows what exactly causes the problem or even how to solve it?

Have you updated the BIOS, there have been a lot of poor HW Virt. BIOS
implementations?
You can also try here, the MS TechNet Forum for Hyper-V

BIOS is up to date. I will take a look at the TechNet forums. Thanks for
the hint :).

Check the System Event Log. Also, although you have an Intel, not a NVIDIA chipset, you might find
the thread "Problem with Hyper-V, NCQ SATA drives; Event ID 129 from nvstor64 saying "Reset to
device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued" in this newsgroup interesting/useful.

It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
