sms sccm upgrade client version

Hi,

We are preparing for an SMS 2003 to SCCM upgrade. All the SMS Servers
are running SMS 2003 SP3 but we still have a number of clients that
are running the version 1 or version 2 client. Do these clients need
to be upgraded prior to the upgrade

No. They can upgrade to CM client without issues.
