I had to reload the SMS 2003 Site after we upgraded the site to SCCM 2007
SP1. The client realized that they wanted the old remote management tools
but I am now getting these errors. Are these the clients that have the newer
client on them that are producing these errors when they check in with the
new SMS Server. Thanks for any help on this.

SMS Inventory Data Loader failed to compile
C:\SMS\inboxes\clifiles.src\hinv\sms_def.mof.  The failing MOF file has been
moved to C:\SMS\data\hinvarchive\sms_def.mof.bad.bak, and the last
successfully compiled version has been restored.

Possible cause: The file has been edited with changes that are not valid for
MOF file syntax.
Solution:  Review the last set of changes to the file for adherence to MOF
file syntax.

This issue is caused by yout sms_def.mof file being update by ConfigMgr,
grab the sms_def.mof file from SMS 2k3 SP3 and replace it with the SP3
version.

Thanks, I am guessing this goes into the location that is showing the error?

Didn't make a difference still getting the error

How did you restore the server? Format and restore from backup? Did you use
SMS 2k3 backup to restore SMS 2k3?

In the end I ended up cleaning the server up for stale files from SMS and
just installing fresh with same site name.
