I provide a static web site to a client which he puts on his intranet. I
want to move this to a dynamic based web site sited on my SBS server.
However I do not want to open my SBS box up to the public - just to the
client.
Is it feasible to enable a VPN link between the two Intranets so that the
client can browse from his intranet to mine seamlessly
Richard
The vpn will not just connect the intranets, it will connect a user to your
machine so they can do whatever you give them permissions to
Depending on what you are putting out there, why not have the site 3rd party
hosted. You can get a lot of webste for 20-30/month. Put whatever you
want and give access to whatver you want on there

Hi Cris
thanks for the swift reply. I'm wanting to provide a coldfusion based web
site linked to data from our separate application server which runs on SQL.
My issue with the 3rd party hosting is the link to our live system data. I
would then have issues with keeping the systems in sync. (I think)
I'd appreciate any further comments

Richard,
VPN is for network access. There are other ways to control access to web
pages. It really depends on the scope of the website. One user versus many
users. I would consider different solutions based on what I was trying to
achieve. A simple logon to an external site which is hosted on port 443 does
make create too much vulnerablitily. However giving access to your network
do create some pretty serious vulnerabilities.
