Trend Micro ScanMail/eManager setup

I've just realized that Trend Micro Anti-Virus came with ScanMail eManager.

I set the Anti-Spam filter to High, and it blocked almost all of our e-mails from getting through.  I then set it to Medium, and it was still blocking almost all of our e-mails.  So, I set it to Low, and some spam is getting through, but it's still blocking most of our wanted e-mails.

I've been going in to add the domains and e-mail addresses of mail we want to receive in the Approved Senders section of the Anti-Spam section.

My questions are this.  What settings did you use for your Anti-Spam in TrendMicro's ScanMail Anti-Spam filter?  Did and do you continue to have to add wanted domains and e-mail addresses into the Approved Senders?  Is most of ours being blocked because it's travel related (which is the nature of our business)?

Do any of you send false positives to the false@support.trendmicro.com to fix it, and has it helped "fix" these types of mistakes from happening?

Lastly, does anyone have any suggestions or tips on using the Anti-Spam feature?

Thanks for all help on this one!!!  I appreciate.  I feel overwhelmed with the Anti-Spam feature, and I don't want to turn it off because it is filtering out most of the spam that we had been getting.

Thanks again!

I usually set the filter at Medium and activate the notification to sender
option.  The recipient will recieve a notification that the mail was
quarantined.  You can then resend the false postitive mail within ScanMail
console.

Thanks for the reply.

That's what I am actually doing right now.  We are getting hundreds that I am having to re-send because of false positives though, and it's taking up more time than actually just deleting the spam we were getting.  This is why I'm going crazy the past two days.

Any other suggestions or is this just the way it works?

You should not be getting that many false positives.  You may want to call
Trend Micro support to see if they can assist you.  They have great support.

It sounds like a pretty bad idea to reply to any spam, because the
spammer then often sees the reply as a verification of the mailaddress,
causing even more spam...

As I stated, the Recipient of the mail receives notification not the Sender.
I would not recommend the Sender notification either but it is an option
with Emanager.
