on windws 2000 small business server we keep getting event 202 in the event log saying that we are out of licences even tho we have plenty to spare

This happened to us too.

I _THINK_ there is a fix for it, but the wrong way to do it is just disable
the license service. (I didn't do it, the guy who installed it did before
there was a fix, so I have no idea how to do it) I'd do a search on the MSKB
for the fix and apply that.

That error is normally from another server (not the SBS box itself). Do you
have a 2nd server on your SBS domain?

It may happen on 'other' servers also, but this one is SBS specific.

Rubbish.
That KB doesn't even mention Event ID: 202

Try:

Well, though my initial answer was in fact rubbish, my reference (with
regards to my rubbish answer) is right on in that its SBS specific.

My mistake for looking at 201, not 202.

Returning to my rubbish pile, keeping my rubbish mouth shut.

Please understand that the term "Rubbish" is just a turn of phrase here
in Oz.
( It's a sort of "Bzzzt - Wrong - No Cupie Doll" remark)

No personal attack or hurt was intended.

I'm not trying to be a smartass here... but if you read Henry's article
(which is for 4.x) it says exactly what I said (its on the member server,
not on the SBS box).

Not to worry Henry, more poking fun at myself for missing the whole 202
reference.

I used to say I'll sleep when I'm dead.......I'm starting to question the
merits of that though.....
