Windows Server Forum / Small Business Server / SBS 2000 / January 2004ftp login fails from client
Can anybody help me as I am tearing my hair out. I have a small sbs2000 network using Windows ME clients and after some 'fiddling' around I have managed to get FTP connection from the server to my webspace using CuteFTP but every time I try from a workstation no matter what FTP client I use I get the IP address of the web hosting server and then the connection fails. I have a broadband connection and all the other internet works no problem and bearing in mind how loose the controls are on Win ME I am totally puzzeled as to why the server works but not the client. I have tried it with and without the firewall client and with and without the firewall settings active but nothing seems to work any ideas? thanks Rob You need to use Passive mode FTP. You should be able to set this in your client. How many nics in the server?
