Looking for advice. What is the best way to roll out SBS
2003 Prem/Upgrade and Win XP upgrade to my excisting SBS
2000 and 2000 pro network. I only have 5 clients to
install.

A) Should I upgrade the clients first and then the server?
B) Should I upgrade the server and then the clients?

Also what is the best way to roll out Win XP RIS or Admin
Install.

Thanks in Advance,
Mark

I'd do the server first, let it settle for a few days, at least, let people
get used to it and iron out any wrinkles.

The XP upgrades, are they FPP or Open License?

The XP upgrade is OL. How long should I give them to get
use to the new server system?

How long is a piece of string?
How Fat is a chinaman.

The time to settle will depend on whether you experience any problems. No
hard and fast rule but even if it went 100% flawless I'd probably like to
leave the workstations alone for a week. Heck, they're on W2Kpro already, it
ain't like the ws upgrade is urgent.

Thanks for the avise. I had planed on starting the server
insatll on 7 Feb and the client on 21 Feb. Just liked the
second opinion.

Frankly, I do not bother with trying to upgrade W2K workstations to XP Pro.
W2K is solid. If the PC has W2K I leave it alone. When I order a new PC, I
order it with XP. If I do need to upgrade to XP, I usually wipe out W2K and
install XP fresh -- I hate bringing aloing reigstry baggage!.

Now, you did not mention anything about ugrading Office. I would encourage
you to do that, and keep all clients on the same version.
