Staff all have laptops, they can dialin from home using dialup connection.

Randomly when in the office, laptops try to connect to internet using dial
up connection

have to go into IE and tick "never dial a connection"

but a few weeks later same thing

any ideas please

Hmmm...

1.  Spyware that needs to be cleaned off the laptops (use Adaware or
Spybot).

2.  Connection Settings Change After You Apply an Internet Explorer
Maintenance GPO

3.  Norton installed on the laptops and set to autoprotect?

Dial-up networking attempts repeatedly to connect during startup and
shutdown after installing Norton AntiVirus

4. Some other 3rd party program playing with your settings.
